Francesco Bagnaia’s hopes of challenging for the 2025 MotoGP title may have already been extinguished after another difficult race.
The two-time champion retired from the British Grand Prix after tiptoeing his way around the track for much of the race until crashing.
Bagnaia’s front end is a disaster currently, and he seems to have lost all confidence in his GP25 bike, if he had any to begin with.
Ducati have refused to discuss reverting back to the GP24 so far, but it may be the only thing which can cure his issues. Their development may have taken a wrong turn somewhere.
Bagnaia was very frustrated at the British Grand Prix and looked visibly distraught after returning to his garage.
Pedro Acosta doubts Ducati will drop Bagnaia, but it’s important never to say never in MotoGP. Just look at how Jorge Martin’s situation has unfolded recently.
Sylvain Guintoli pinpoints Francesco Bagnaia ‘struggle’ at the British Grand Prix
Silverstone played host to the second consecutive chaotic race in succession, with yet another non-Ducati win, courtesy of Marco Bezzecchi of Aprilia.
At one stage, there were no Ducati riders in the top four, as they all struggled to find grip in the cold and windy conditions.
Speaking after the race, TNT Sports’ Sylvain Guintoli explained the reasons why Bagnaia, in particular, struggled so much.
“What’s happened is here, the conditions, the cold and the cool breeze have highlighted that problem even more,” he said.
“Then Pecco really, really was struggling and then again, we had the struggle for the other Ducati riders.”

What solutions are left for Francesco Bagnaia to cure his MotoGP woes?
Bagnaia is now 72 points behind Marquez in the MotoGP title fight, with 15 races to go this season. Winning it all is going to be virtually impossible.
Davide Tardozzi firmly disagrees with Bagnaia and doesn’t believe that the newer variation of their bike has any big issues.
But, with the way that all bikes struggled at Silverstone, it may indicate that there is something a bit deeper going on at the Italian manufacturer.
Bagnaia questioned Ducati’s improvements and will probably continue to do so until he catches a break. It’s just hard to see where that will come.
