Toprak Razgatlioglu has officially confirmed his move to MotoGP from World Superbikes as he will join Pramac Yamaha in 2026.
The Turkish rider will return to the Japanese manufacturer next year, having raced with Yamaha in WSBK from 2020 to 2023, winning the title in 2021. Razgatlioglu moved to BMW in 2024, where he claimed his second championship.
The 28-year-old has been linked with a move to MotoGP for some time. Honda were rivalling Yamaha for his signature, but the latter have secured Razgatlioglu’s services for Pramac in 2026.
This announcement confirms that one of the team’s current riders will be leaving at the end of 2025. Jack Miller has a one-year contract, while Miguel Oliveira has a two-year deal, but neither rider is safe.
Pramac are assessing their options for next season, with Miller, on paper, being the most likely rider to leave the team. But despite numerous mistakes and retirements, the Aussie has impressed since joining Yamaha, with his experience being crucial for the team behind the scenes.
Meanwhile, his teammate has had a miserable season, having missed four races after a crash in Argentina. While injuries have hampered his season, Oliveira is not meeting his performance clause; Pramac are beginning to mount pressure.
Miguel Oliveira has a ‘couple of weeks’ to save his MotoGP career as Toprak Razgatlioglu joins Pramac
Since returning from injury, Oliveira has struggled to make an impression. Finishing just 15th at the Aragon GP, he scored his first point since the season opener in Thailand.
Pramac want to avoid an ‘unfair’ situation for Oliveira and will decide their 2026 rider line-up over the summer break. Therefore, as Neil Morrison noted via the Paddock Pass Podcast, the Portuguese rider ‘knows’ he has a ‘couple of weeks’ to save his career.
Assessing the weekend at Aragon, Morrison said: “Oliveira, I mean, it was a hopeless weekend for Yamaha, but even within that, I think Oliveira was kind of the low point of that.
“15th, [one point], which is some going this year for him. But in light of the speculation linking Toprak Razgatlioglu with that team next year, from what Oliveira was saying, he knows he’s basically got a couple of weeks to save his MotoGP future, it seems.
“I think he said on Saturday, he’s got until the summer break to kind of get his act together. The team are understanding, knowing that he was injured for a good chunk of the season through no fault of his own.
“But on this basis where he’s now saying he’s 100% fit, we’re not really seeing any kind of improvements from him.”

How Jack Miller can keep his seat in MotoGP over Miguel Oliveira
While Oliveira struggles towards the back, teammate Miller has been Yamaha’s second-best rider behind Fabio Quartararo. The Aussie has been fighting much closer to the front of the pack than his results suggest, and he could be the perfect rider to have alongside Razgatlioglu.
Miller knows he must beat Oliveira in 2025, which he is currently doing rather convincingly. The 30-year-old must finish as the lowest-ranked Yamaha rider for the manufacturer to trigger his performance clause.
There is even a chance that Miller could replace Alex Rins at the factory Yamaha team. His work behind the scenes developing the M1 could earn him a promotion, giving Oliveira a chance to stay in MotoGP.
But nothing is certain as of yet, with every outcome still possible. Miller could fall victim to ‘politics’ and swap places with Razgatlioglu in WSBK.
