Conor Bradley has said he wants to play more after outgoing right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold’s immediate replacement at Liverpool signed a four-year contract extension to keep him at the club until 2029.

Out-of-contract Alexander-Arnold announced on May 5 that he will end his 20-year association with the Premier League champions at the end of the season, with the 26-year-old expected to join Real Madrid before the start of their Club World Cup campaign on June 18.

Northern Ireland captain Bradley, 21, made his full Liverpool in January 2024 but has missed 15 games through injury in all competitions this season has made only four league starts for the champions this season before Alexander-Arnold revealed he would be leaving.

“I’m very proud and happy to see what the next steps on our journey together will be,” former Bolton Wanderers loanee Bradley told Liverpool’s website.

“You’ve just got to keep your head down and keep working hard. Hopefully, we can keep going and keep making more memories.”

“[I aim] to play even more games but also to win more trophies. The whole point of playing football is to win trophies and be successful. The more of them we can win, the better it will be for me and the whole team.”

Conor Bradley stats

Bradley first played for Liverpool against Norwich City in September 2021, becoming the first Northern Irish player to feature for them in a competitive game since Sammy Smyth in 1954.

He finished the 2021/22 season on five appearances and won Bolton’s Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year awards while spending the subsequent campaign with Wanderers, as well as winning the EFL Trophy.

After returning to his parent club, Bradley made 23 appearances in all competitions in 2023/24, scoring his first Liverpool goal in a 4-1 home win over Chelsea in January 2024 and winning the EFL Cup the following month.

He has made 27 Liverpool appearances this season ahead of their final two games, with three of his five starts coming since Alexander-Arnold said he would be leaving.
