Enzo Maresca has made it clear that he and his Chelsea team are determined to adopt a “win at any cost” mindset for the Conference League final against Real Betis.
Fresh off securing a Champions League spot with a crucial win over Nottingham Forest on Sunday, the Blues have swiftly turned their attention to the final.
The squad travelled from Cobham to Wroclaw, Poland, where they immediately headed to Stadion Wroclaw, the setting for Wednesday night’s showdown.
Upon arrival, Maresca was joined by Reece James and Levi Colwill for media engagements before leading an open training session.
This final run-out on the pitch offered another chance for Maresca to focus the squad’s efforts on the task at hand.
“The message over the last 48 hours has been, ‘We did something important [qualifying for the Champions League], but if we want to confirm that we are becoming an important club again, we need to show the desire to win the game and the trophy,’” Maresca said.

“So it’s job done [in the Premier League], fantastic, and we’re happy. But tomorrow is a different game, a final, and we want to win at any cost.
“Every day we have something to prove, no doubt. What we have done [qualifying for the Champions League] is done. Now we have to prove ourselves again tomorrow.
“We have played many games this season in this competition, now we have just one more.
“For sure, for me personally [there is something to prove], but the message to the players is exactly same. Every day is a chance to improve, and we want to compete for titles.”
Maresca has confirmed a 23-man travelling squad for the final. Notably, Christopher Nkunku is available again after recovering from injury.
Nicolas Jackson, who missed Chelsea’s last two Premier League games due to suspension, is also back in the mix.
