Paris Saint-Germain clinched the Champions League title for the first time in their history with a record-breaking 5-0 win over Inter Milan at the Allianz Arena.
Luis Enrique’s men were the pre-match favourites after improving drastically on their often underwhelming performances in the league phase and knocking out Liverpool, Aston Villa and Arsenal en route to the showpiece.
And they backed up that status in scintillating fashion, Achraf Hakimi putting them ahead with a goal against his former club in the 12th minute before the excellent Desire Doue doubled the advantage eight minutes later.
Inter had shown outstanding resilience to win their semi-final epic with Barcelona in extra time, but they had no answer to the brilliance of Luis Enrique’s youthful side, the 19-year-old Doue the leading light in a masterful team performance.
Doue doubled his tally to put the game beyond doubt in the 63rd minute, and Kvicha Kvaratskhelia piled more pain on Inter 10 minutes later before Senny Mayulu had the final say as PSG broke the record for biggest winning margin in the history of the European Cup and the Champions League and clinched a treble in the process.

That Inter appeared content to sit back in the early stages was little surprise, but the speed with which they were pushed deeper and deeper by PSG was alarming and, after some early warning signs, the Ligue 1 champions made their early pressure tell.
Hakimi, goalscorer in the last eight and in the semi-finals, delivered again for PSG, though he only had to tap in to round off an exquisite 12th-minute move that saw Vitinha split the defence as his pass found the run of Doue, who showed composure that belied his experience in swivelling and laying the ball off for the Morocco right-back to break the deadlock.
Federico Dimarco was the culprit as the Inter offside trap failed in that instance, and he was the unfortunate party again eight minutes later, deflecting Doue’s volley beyond the helpless Yann Sommer after a trademark PSG counter.
Inter had chances to halve the deficit as Francesco Acerbi and Marcus Thurman both missed the target with close-range headers, though Ousmane Dembele should have put the game to bed from point-blank range after latching on to Doue’s superb low left-wing cross.
Doue then drifted a long-range effort narrowly wide and Kvaratskhelia headed over from a corner that followed his deflected strike in first-half stoppage time.
PSG remained firmly in the ascendancy after the interval and, after a showing of artistry from Doue teed up Hakimi for an opportunity that ended with the ball deflecting wide, the undoubted star of the show made sure of glory with a sublime second.
Dembele sent Vitinha surging towards the box with an instinctive flicked pass, and the Portugal midfielder laid the ball into the path of Doue to lash home the finishing blow.
Yet there was ample time for PSG to add gloss to an already devastating scoreline, and it was applied by Kvaratskhelia, whose goals in the first half of the season before his move to Paris played a part in Napoli denying Inter the Serie A title, confidently dispatched a fourth after being played through by Dembele.
PSG made a raft of changes after going four goals up, but that did not disrupt their dominance or stem the tide of chances, and 18-year-old Mayulu powered in from a tight angle to ensure a long-awaited triumph would be one in which they triumphed by an unprecedented margin.
