Bryson’s Justin Bieber invite, Jason Kelce seeks golf advice

Hello friends, and welcome to this week’s edition of the Rogers Report, where we are very excited to have both the PGA and LPGA Tour in the lovely (yet rainy) Northeast this week, but also bummed because there were no professional golfers at the Met Gala on Monday evening.

Only two professional golfers have ever attended the Met Gala: Tiger Woods in 2013 and Nelly Korda last year. I was really hoping for Korda to return this year or to maybe see the reigning Masters champion on the red carpet, but had no such luck. And just in case Vogue‘s very own Anna Wintour is a loyal reader of the Rogers Report, here is my plea: please, please please invite some golfers in 2026. I just know Jason Day and Charley Hull would turn heads in Malbon.

Okay, let’s get to it.

Justin Bieber tees it up

Justin Bieber may be a two-time Grammy winner, but in a lot of ways, he’s just like all men in their 30s: he posted seven Instagram reels of himself playing golf over the weekend.

I did what I always do when I see a celebrity teeing it up online and headed to the USGA GHIN Handicap app on my phone (add this to your routine social media scroll if you haven’t already) and was disappointed to see that Bieber isn’t entering his scores. I would love to know what he’s shooting these days. Also, shout out to his all-white outfit, I don’t think the tank top would be allowed at many courses, but maybe the rules don’t apply if you’re Justin Bieber.

Bryson DeChambeau even commented on one of Bieber’s golf reels saying “let’s film some golf content.” Here’s to hoping there’s a “Breaking 50 with Justin Bieber” or a Bieber music video featuring the 2024 U.S. Open champion sometime soon. Preferably both.

Bryson’s back in the winner’s circle

To the surprise of absolutely no one, Bryson DeChambeau is back in the winner’s circle.

The two-time U.S. Open winner won LIV Korea by two and had a lot to say about his experience in Korea.

“It’s an amazing place. The people are amazing. The food’s great. Korean barbecue is especially amazing. I was not disappointed at all. Coming here, experiencing this for the first time, I’ve got to tell you, that galbi beef is amazing. I love it. I’ve had it pretty much every night, and I hope to have it again tonight in celebration. So the people — it was unbelievable this week, the response. Every single hole, there’s people wanting to get high fives and whatnot. That just makes me feel comfortable and at home. Hopefully I’ve inspired a few people here in Korea to play golf and get a little bit better and enjoy this great game of golf. I think that’s the message of LIV Golf is growing this game globally, and I think we’ve done that pretty well. I’ve got to say I’m looking forward to coming back. The people are great and love the food here too.”

It sounds like I need to put Korea (and Korean barbecue) on my bucket list.

Jason Kelce seeks swing help

In another example of “sometimes celebrities are just like the rest of us,” Jason Kelce recently turned to golf Reddit for some swing advice.

While I don’t have the proper credentials to offer swing feedback, I can commend Kelce for going about this the right way: by avoiding seeking swing feedback on golf Twitter at all costs. I’ve seen the spark in the eyes of innocent beginner golfers die after posting swing videos to X, so I’m very glad Kelce didn’t take that route. Golf Reddit seems like a more wholesome place to be vulnerable (share your golf swing).

It’s so fun to see people, especially celebrities and retired pro athletes, catch the golf bug in real time. I feel lucky to witness Kelce’s love for the game grow, and I absolutely love his set up. Grown men everywhere would kill for a backyard like that.

Also, sorry to brag but I did get to chat with the Kelce brothers a few weeks ago at the 8AM Invitational at Wynn Las Vegas and Jason’s outfit was something.

Never change, Jason. Unless it’s your golf swing. That’ll probably improve, drive you crazy, get worse and then improve again a lot over the next few decades.
