Fabio Wardley (19-0-1, 18 KOs), behind on points, knocked out his replacement opponent Justis Huni (12-1, 7 KOs) in the tenth round to capture the WBA interim heavyweight title on Saturday night at Ipswich, Suffolk, UK.

The camera panned away while the referee was giving a count to Huni, who appeared to make it to his feet in time, but the fight was still stopped for some reason. The stoppage didn’t sit right with fans on social media, who felt that Huni should have been allowed to continue. It was officially stopped at 1:42 of the tenth round of a scheduled 12 rounds

In the second round’s final minute, Wardley opened up on Huni with a flurry of punches. In the fifth rounds final minute Hunti had Wardley against the ropes with a flurry of punches. In the seventh round, midway, Hunti drove Wardley into the ropes with a right on the chin. In the eighth rounds final minute Hunti had another good round outworking Wardley.

At the end of the ninth round, Hunti landed a solid right on the chin of Wardley, making him clinch. In the tenth round, midway, Wardley landed a powerful lead right on the chin of Hunti, and down he went on his back for the count from Referee Latham.

In the co-main event, WBC International super lightweight champion Pierce ‘Big Bang’ O’Leary (17-0, 9 KOs) defeated Liam Dillon (15-3-1, 3 KOs) by a 12-round unanimous decision for the vacant EBU super lightweight title.

In the third round, midway, O’Leary landed a left hook to the body, hurting Dillon. From the fourth through the seventh, O’Leary outlanded a tough Dillon.

In the eighth round, Dillon had his best round, landing a right on the chin of O’Leary midway. In the tenth round, O’Leary came in and an all-action fight came back, having an edge. In the eleventh round, O’Leary, always the aggressor throughout, continued outworking Dillon with combinations. In the twelfth and final round, they gave the fans plenty of entertainment as both fighters embraced at the end.

The scores were 116-112, 115-113, and 117-112. Mark Bates was the referee.

Cruiserweight Mike ‘The Rebel’ Perez (31-3-1, 22 KOs) stopped former WBO Euro champ Steven ‘The Quiet Man’ Ward (15-4, 5 KOs) at 0:49 of the ninth round of a scheduled 10 rounds for the vacant WBA Inter-Continental cruiserweight title.

The first three rounds were competitive, with Perez having a slight edge. In the fourth and fifth rounds, Ward came back well with an effective jab.

In the seventh round, Perez drew blood from the mouth and right ear of Ward in the final minute.

In the eighth round’s final minute, Perez dropped Ward with three lefts on the chin for an 8-count from referee Bob Williams. Seconds later, Perez dropped Williams for another 8-count. In the ninth round, Williams’ right eyebrow was cut and bulging when Perez landed a pair of lefts to the chin, dropping Ward as his corner threw in the towel, stopping the bout.

WBO Euro Heavyweight champ Nelson ‘The Albanian Eagle’ Hysa (23-0, 21 KOs) stopped ‘Big‘ Patrick Korte (22-5-1, 18 KOs) at 2:05 of the second round in a scheduled 10 rounds.
